Do you ever just stop mid-scroll, mid-chaos, or mid-avocado-toast bite and think, blimey, I’m actually quite blessed?
Now hold on, I’m NOT talking about the kind of “blessed” you see on Instagram with people sipping cocktails in Santorini, sporting six-packs and suspiciously white teeth. I’m talking about real blessings. The simple, unfiltered kind. Like having two meals a day, parents who answer your calls (even when it’s just to ask if onions can go in the fridge), or someone in your life who truly adores you, flaws, farts, and all.
My Very Glamorous View: A Man Ironing Curtains
Right now, I’m writing this while staring at my man ironing curtains. IRONING. CURTAINS. If that’s not peak domestic romance, I don’t know what is. Honestly, he’s an absolute gem, even though he tests my patience daily with his unapologetic American humour and the extra loud laugh that comes with it. Still, life without him would be like tea without a biscuit. Pointless.
Because of him, I gained a bonus dad (cheers, in-laws), and another mum (Lindsey) who’s so kind she could probably win a Nobel Peace Prize just for existing. They’re proper lovely.
Then there’s my own papa. The best. No contest. He’s the kind of dad who loves deeply, fixes anything with duct tape, and still makes me laugh like I’m six years old. I love him to bits.
Our Cosy, Slightly Chaotic Little Home
Let’s talk about our home. It’s not a Pinterest mansion, but it is ours. It’s tiny, it’s cosy, it’s got fairy lights, books in every corner, and that lived-in smell of toast and bunny fur. Honestly, it’s the perfect blend of chaos and comfort.
Speaking of chaos, our two bunnies. Bloody hell. They’re the messiest, fluffiest little nightmares. But also, the cutest things ever. They chew through wires and then look at you with those innocent eyes like, “Wires? What wires?” Love them. Even when they try to kill the WiFi.
My Life: Imperfectly Perfect
Sure, I’ve got dreams and goals. I’m not lounging on success yet (unless success involves accidentally binge-watching crime documentaries while eating toast). But when I stop and think about what I really need to be happy… all I can come up with is avocado toast. Because honestly, I’ve already got everything else that truly matters.
So here’s your reminder: don’t wait for your life to be perfect to feel blessed. Look around. Count the silly things, the real things, the annoying things that make your life uniquely yours. And please, stop longing for what’s missing and start laughing at what’s already here (especially if it’s chewing on your phone charger).
Loads of luv
Hannah 💕
PS: I’m currently devouring A Court of Thorns and Roses and yes, I’m emotionally invested. Don’t judge.
